“I can’t turn you loose” by Otis Redding plays in both the mall chase scene, and the concert scene.
The same song is used in both of these scenes because the director wants to elicit the same emotions of excitement, and this song works perfectly with its exhilirating, blaring horn section and vocals.
Other songs are used multiple times in the film to elicit memories and emotions in the audience.
One such example is the “Peter Gunn Theme” which plays three times during the film.
